Just in time for payday huh?
So if you're new to Hot Cash, I will explain it now.
There's a promotion period in which when you buy $30 pre-tax in Hot Topic merchandise, you will get a Hot Cash. This is in essence a coupon allowing $15 off any purchase $30 or more. The beauty about this is that in stores, at least the ones I go to, you can stack them to allow for basically 50% off your purchase. The time to earn Hot Cash is coming to an end, and the time to redeem Hot Cash is fast approaching.
So what to do with all those pieces of paper?
First off realize that some stores will require you to provide the receipt in which the Hot Cash was earned. If you don't have the receipt still attached you can try to talk to them or you can always use it online.
When you purchase online, they only let you redeem one Hot Cash at a time. If you have a store nearby and are ordering items that can be broken down into $30 increments then you can always do multiple orders and have them ship to the store for free. If you can't breakdown your item cost then you can call customer service and they will take your order as well as redeem multiple Hot Cash for you. I have never done this myself but I have heard many people doing this successfully.
Stuff will go fast! I mean really fast! If there's something you want then be sure you get to the store early. It's a crazy time during Hot Cash and there will be chaos and lines.
If you don't find anything you want in the beginning don't worry. This isn't really like a sale where quantities are limited. The store still has it's usual restocks and new items will be available so just keep checking back. Most Hot Topics have a Facebook and Instagram account to keep customers up to date with newly arrived merchandise.
Make sure to keep the code handy from your Hot Cash. This is something that I don't take advantage of but people can. All the codes are the same. I don't know why they do that but there it is. If there is something you want online you can still use the code and get the discount despite not having hot cash. It's a sloppy loophole that I am sure costs the company a good chunk of change.
Set a budget, just because you have Hot Cash doesn't mean you need to use it. Honestly, I never used to use my Hot Cash because I never found $30 of stuff that was interesting enough for me to purchase during the redemption period. Avoid impulse purchases and keep your bank account happy.
This is a great time to stock up on random items. Hot Topic isn't all about goth and darkness. One major change over the years is that they sell Funko Pops. From this they have also expanded into selling blind boxes and blind bags. They also have a lot of great gifts that range from Disney, to anime, to comics, to pop culture, to bands, etc.
There is something for everyone. I personally love their T shirt offerings and I can always use socks and underwear.
So those are my words of wisdom...... hope this is helpful.
If you have Hot Cash burning a hole in your wallet then mark your calenders and get your lists ready, Thursday will be epic.
Live Happy!
