Fragrance of the Week: BPAL Kitsune Tsuki

So BPAL stands for Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab.

Kitsune Tsuki in this context refers to women who are possessed by fox spirits.  Their conscience remains intact but they are susceptible to the desires that the fox spirit possesses.  They basically turn into seductresses and live a lustful life.

So how to convey that into a fragrance?

Asian plum, orchid, daffodil, jasmine and white musk.

If I had to have a signature scent that wasn't commercially available everywhere then this would be it.  It is presented in a 5ml amber bottle and is an oil base so a little will go a long way.  Also, it ages very well becoming more complex and not as bright as a fresh bottle.  To me it smells like longing.  I really can't describe it.  But then again BPAL is amazing at making scents that convey emotions and places rather than just pretty blends that smell good.

It's a sweet floral that has the slightest tartness to it.  I only really get a jasmine note since my nose isn't as refined as it once was.  This mixes in nicely with the musk and the two scents actually become one in a sort of harmony that isn't really found anymore in a lot of fragrances.

This scent strays a bit from the body but not too far.  It doesn't get amped up too much with my chemistry and it lasts all day.

If you're not familiar with BPAL I urge you to check out their site.  Don't get scared by the macabre layout.  There is a fragrance junkie's paradise waiting for you on the other side.

Hope your holidays are going well, live happy!
