Confection! Panda Cake Time

So I finally made the 3 tiered panda cake for my friend's red egg and ginger party she had for her daughter.

This was definitely a labor of love and I learned a lot in the process.

As for would I do something like this again..... it depends.

A few things were against me when making this cake.

Marc Jacobs Beauty Now at Sephora

So I went to a not so local Sephora today to pick up a my Ariel mirror compact (the things we do for...) and saw the new Marc Jacobs cosmetics line.

Sephora by OPI Sale 3 for $10

Well damn!  If you didn't already stock up on polish when it was 50% off, you were wiser than me.

If you go online Sephora by OPI is now 3 for $10.  I don't know if the same deal is in store.  At the time of this posting they had 88 colors available and in stock.  All I really have to say is that I will most likely look for more colors to buy.

I have never tried the Sephora X line although I did buy a polish from that line.  But I honestly thought it was a promo for a Wolverine movie.

I personally love the formula of Sephora by OPI and will be sad to see them gone.

But on the plus side for the time being they are on sale.  I'm wondering how long before these polishes get reduced to $1 each, but yeah I'm not going to wait that long.

So if you're still aching for nail polish go now and get some.

So I haven't posted in a while and I apologize for that.  I've been busy doing nothing it seems.

I will be making a 3 tiered cake for my friend's Reg Egg party.  If you don't know what a red egg is, it's a party to celebrate a baby's first month (or 100 days).

Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Basics

So the season is upon us and the Nordstrom Anniversary Pre-Sale is on right now.  These are just a couple of tips that I have gathered through experience.  If you have more to add please do so in the comments.

Dior Nail Sparkling Powders

This has got to be my more questionable purchase as far as the Anniversary sale goes.  I bought it because it was Dior and I love my nail polishes.

Nordstrom's Anniversary Sale Early Access is On!

That's right!  It's my second most spendiest time of the year (after Christmas).

If you're a card holder then look through the website here.  If not, well you won't be able to see prices on the website.  Another alternative is going to an actual store.  I went to the one at Valley Fair today and they let anyone in the curtained off areas.  You only needed a Nordstrom card if you wanted to buy something.

Early 4th of July Sales

There is some virtue in not having patience.  If you are waiting for Thursday to go shopping for some great deals, you're might be a little too late.

Lancome's outlet (DF&CCO) had 4th of July deals starting last weekend.  If you have a chance to go before the crowds then you might be in some luck and find some really great items.  At my local DF&CCO they had 1oz. Genifique (serum concentrate as well as the gel cream) for $35.  That is a really good deal since they retail for $84.

Nordstrom Rack!!!!!  I haven't had time to look at the entire store but my goal was to get good deals on bras and underwear.  Honestly I wear bras until they break or I go to Target for cheaper bras.  And while bras can be very pricey nowadays, they are still very reasonably priced at Nordstrom Rack.  The other day I got a bra for $7 and one for $10.  That's cheaper than Target and the bras are very well built and comfortable.  Sizing and selection might be limited but for great deals one should be prepared to hunt for items.

Clearance underwear was priced at under $3 for most items.  They include brands like Hanky Panky and Stella McCartney.

Stila lovers, they also have the Countless Color Pigments from the Summer 2013 collection available.  I was super tempted to get some but opted not to since I have an abundance of cosmetics already.

Hope I gave some destination ideas for Thursday.  There are not many better ways to build up an appetite like shopping and what's more rewarding than getting stuff at a major discount right?

So it is hotter than a hyena's ass here in San Jose.  It's about 101 degrees where I'm at and I'm impatiently waiting for the sun to go down.

I went to Walgreens during my lunch and got some Rimmel items.
